Hi all - As you can imagine we’ve been frantically running around this morning, following the news of the extended lockdown.

I am pleased to report to you all that, with the help of Swimming Qld, Brisbane Swimming and Sleeman we have been able to reschedule our meet for SUNDAY 4th JULY. This is of course, dependant on the lockdown ending at 6pm Saturday.

All other details will remain the same- gates open at 745 for 8am warm up. 9am start. Ticketing and check in will be especially important. Could you please ensure your members are aware of the ticketing and check in requirements

Swimming Qld will send further info out to all attendees very soon today. Thank you to everyone who reached out and offers support

update 12:00pm 02-07-21

Due to the 24-hr extension of the COVID lockdown, our members will not be able to attend tomorrows Chandler Meet. I have expressed my support to the Chandler Swimming Club, if their club chooses to seek approval from Swimming QLD, to reschedule the meet to an alternative time.

I would ask Moreton Bay parents to wait until we are notified on the outcome of this rescheduling, before seeking reimbursement of meet entry fees.

Coaches Tamara and Lushy will be attending this meet.

Please email Lushy here with any further questions

Timekeeping – Moreton Bay Swimming Club

MBS will be required to provide timekeepers during the meet. I don't believe we need an official "time-keeping roster", rather I will look for people to put their hands up on the day.

Junior Carnival – 1x timekeeper required.
Senior Carnival – 1x timekeeper required.

COVID Update – updated 30-06-21
As per Queensland Health requirements, Brisbane is one of several Local Government Areas where you must always carry a face mask with you when you leave home, unless you have a lawful reason not to. You must wear a mask in indoor spaces except when partaking in strenuous exercise. Strenuous exercise is exercise in or above the aerobic zone including high-intensity interval training, cycling, running.

As per Queensland Health recommendations, there are some exceptions to wearing a face mask, including –
• children under 12
• a person eating, drinking, or taking medicine.
• where visibility of the mouth is essential
• where a mask needs to be removed to clearly communicate
• a person with a particular medical condition or disability
• a person undergoing medical treatment.
• if a person is asked to remove a face mask for identity purposes
• if wearing a mask creates a risk to a person’s health and safety
• in an emergency or when required by law
• in any circumstances when it is not safe to wear a mask

Outside of the above exceptions, if you can please ensure all attendees are wearing masks whilst inside the Venue, and outside when unable to physically distance.
All attendees will need to check in via the Check In Qld app. Only swimmers, coaches, and allocated volunteers (including timekeepers) will be allowed on pool deck.
